Learn about the Austin Apartment Association's new program, "Apartner in Safety Alliance" launching in January 2025.
The Apartner in Safety Alliance program aims to connect the community by removing barriers for first responders to live in multifamily properties across the city, improving the safety of multifamily buildings and strengthening the relationship between Austin residents and the first responders that serve them.
This program will allow members to offer incentives for first responders (Police, Fire & EMS) to live at their property, host community engagement events and improve the safety of their property.
This webinar will cover the program requirements, how to join the program and answer any questions you may have about the program.

Apartner in Safety Alliance: Strengthening Austin through housing, public safety and community engagement.
Housing: Members can offer incentives for first responders to live at their properties, such as waived fees, deposits, or rent discounts. Incentives are recommended for three months but can be extended as desired.
AAA will host a portal listing participating properties. Properties must update AAA with incentive dates or notify when they are no longer available.
Public Safety: After joining the Apartner in Safety Alliance, members will schedule a property walkthrough with a police officer, who will provide safety improvement recommendations. While implementing these recommendations is optional, members are encouraged to follow through.
Community Engagement: AAA will support community engagement events to connect residents with first responders. AAA will sponsor two 'Safety over Slices' events, where residents can meet local first responders over pizza. Properties may host additional events at their convenience, with AAA staff available to assist.
