ABOUT THE JAMES E. SOLT SCHOLARSHIP

A special tradition began in 1987: the implementation of the James E. Solt Memorial Scholarship. Mr. Solt, a Past President of the Austin Apartment Association, was an exemplary role model with a particular love of the skills required for on-site management and for education. This fund was created to honor his memory and promote education in the rental housing industry.

The Solt Scholarship Fund offers recognition and scholarships for worthy members and/or their employees who participate in the Austin Apartment Association's education programs.

CALP Half Scholarship: Aracelia Garcia

My name is Araceli, of Rainier Properties at Kensington Apartments. My main goal for this scholarship is to utilize the information learned to master the role of a leasing professional so that I fully understand this aspect of the industry before progressing into management. I believe in aligning your morals with your management style, and in my opinion, you cannot be a successful leader if you aren’t able to fully relate to the tasks you’re asking of your team

CAM Full Scholarship: Ivan Subia

I joined the apartment industry in 2023 and have quickly built a strong track record of success, managing a variety of properties ranging from affordable housing to Class A lease-ups. I take pride in my high closing rates, impeccable financial management, and leadership skills. Passionate about creating positive living environments, I am eager to further my career by earning certification as an apartment manager to enhance my ability to contribute to both residents' satisfaction and the success of property owners.
