AAA Foundation’s 38th Annual Food Drive Feeds 5,200 Austinites

Community,

(Austin, TX – November 21, 2024) – The Austin Apartment Association (AAA) marked another successful year for the AAA Foundation Food Drive, raising $30,000 to provide 1,300 meal kits, feeding 5,200 individuals in the Austin area. The effort, supported by AAA members, local businesses, and partner organizations, highlights the rental housing industry’s unwavering commitment to giving back to the community.

Since its inception in 1986, the Food Drive has raised over $1,000,000, delivering more than 28,000 meal kits to local families. This year’s effort brought a collaborative spirit to assembly and delivery days, thanks to Cort Furniture and Move for Hunger, whose teams worked alongside volunteers to assemble and distribute the meal kits to families in need.

The 1,300 meal kits were distributed to AAA’s trusted partner organizations, including:

  • The Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA)
  • SAFE Austin
  • Foundation Communities
  • The Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services Rainbow Room

The AAA Foundation Food Drive stands as one of AAA’s most impactful community service initiatives. Beyond its immediate benefits, it serves as a reminder of the power of collective generosity.
