Be the Next Room to Grow Ambassador - Maintenance Edition!

By popular demand, we are excited to bring back the “Be the Next Room to Grow Ambassador” video challenge, part of the Room to Grow campaign. This year however, we will be focusing on our maintenance professionals, the often-unsung heroes of the multifamily industry who keep our properties in working order and safe. Not only do they keep things running smoothly, but they also help our residents feel at home. In a time when we know that maintenance is the #1 need when it comes to recruiting and staffing. We hope this focus on maintenance will provide us more stories to share that can resonate with Texans looking for not just a job but a career.

If you’re a maintenance professional in the industry at any level, we want to hear your story! Your story can help raise awareness about the many career opportunities within the apartment industry. The video challenge winner will have a professional video of their story made as well as receiving statewide recognition, registration and lodging for the 2021 TAA Education Conference and other amazing perks. So, start brainstorming and prepping your own stories to showcase why YOU should be the next ambassador.

The “Be The Next Room to Grow Ambassador” video challenger is an internal video challenge for industry employees in maintenance positions to tell us their stories and to be an Ambassador for the industry. Submissions will be accepted beginning on January 4 (the submission website will be shared shortly) and the process is easy – simply record a short video of yourself telling us who you are, what you do and what you love about your job. The challenge begins on January 4 and the deadline for submissions is January 26, 2021 at 11:59PM CT. A committee of industry leaders will select 3-5 finalists. Then, each finalist will be notified and announced for a public vote (friends, family members, colleagues and more can all cast their vote for you!) and a winner will be dubbed the next Room to Grow ambassador. The voting period will take place from February 3-11, 2021 and the winner will be announced on February 15.

The Room to Grow campaign is an external recruitment initiative to educate Texans about the diverse career opportunities in the Texas apartment industry through telling the stories of our Ambassadors.
